SANJOY K. ROY RECEIVES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT WOW AWARDS ASIA

Sanjoy K. Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the WOW Awards Asia, one of India’s leading recognitions for excellence in the experiential, live events, and entertainment industry, in New Delhi on July 8, 2026.

The award was presented in Mumbai by acclaimed lyricist, poet, and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, recognising Roy’s contribution to India’s cultural and literary landscape over more than three decades.

As the driving force behind Teamwork Arts, Roy has played a key role in creating and expanding several of India’s most celebrated cultural festivals, including the Jaipur Literature Festival, Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards, Mahindra Kabira Festival, Jaigarh Heritage Festival, The Sacred Amritsar, Sikkim Arts & Literature Festival, and Avakai – Amaravati Festival of Cinema, Culture and Literature. Under his leadership, the Jaipur Literature Festival has also grown into an international platform with editions in the UK, the US, Canada, Spain, and Ireland.

Accepting the honour, Roy dedicated the award to his colleagues, collaborators, artists, writers, performers, partners, and audiences who have been part of Teamwork Arts’ journey over the past four decades.

“I’m honoured to receive the WOW Lifetime Achievement Award. This recognition belongs to my colleagues at Teamwork Arts and to the artists, writers, performers, partners, and audiences who have shaped this journey over four decades. Culture is about creating spaces where people can meet, exchange ideas, and inspire change,” Roy said.

Congratulating Roy, Ankur Bhardwaj, Chief Operating Officer of Teamwork Arts, described the recognition as a proud moment for the organisation.

“Sanjoy’s vision and leadership have helped build platforms that have brought together an extraordinary community of artists, writers, performers, colleagues, and partners. This honour celebrates not only his contribution but also the vibrant cultural ecosystem that has grown through these collective efforts,” Bhardwaj said.

The Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges Roy’s enduring contribution to strengthening India’s cultural ecosystem and promoting literature, arts, theatre, and cross-cultural dialogue on both national and international stages.
